Our participation in Zambia

at the Digital Rights and Inclusion Forum

Together with the D4D Hub and Enabel from Belgium we joined the Digital Rights and Inclusion Forum in Zambia. DRIF is all about "promoting Digital Ubuntu in approaches to Technology". Our Foundation is member of the D4D Hub Civil Society and Academia Advisory Group. We had good talks with African countries about collaborating on "a human centric digital transformation"; in our case also working together on a child-friendly digital environment.

On this page a short impression.

The importance of digital inclusion

At DRIF 2025, everyone agreed: it is important to work on digital inclusion, especially for all young people in the rural areas.

Launch of a Digital Rights Manual

We witnessed the launch of the first digital rights manual for beginners; developed by several African participants (our friends!).

What is a human-centric approach?

It is important to really understand the different needs in each part of the world. We participated in a workshop with different African people.

Evaluating our Malawi-partnership

It was a pleasure to meet our Malawian partner Youth and Society. Good steps are being taken, but they need more support to accelerate.

Exploring a new Network in Uganda

It was a pleasure to meet different people from Uganda. We discussed the start of a new Digital Child Rights Network in Uganda.

First pilot with Zambian youth

We started a pilot with the Lizu Community Network. Young people play with our Child Rights cards and we listen to their digital experiences.

Supporting young Congo refugees

The highlight was our meeting with several young refugees from Congo. We will support them with their Connection Challenges.

Collaborating with the D4D Hub

We are proud to join the D4D Hub and Enabel to boost collaboration between Europe and Africa on the human-centric digital transformation.
